Eric joined EDGE as Chief Financial Officer in 2025, bringing more than two decades of experience at the intersection of finance, technology, and high-growth markets. As CFO, he leads EDGE's financial strategy, capital planning, and operational scaling, drawing on a career spent building and running fintech businesses through periods of rapid expansion and complex regulatory change.

Eric is the co-founder of Athena Bitcoin Global, a publicly traded Bitcoin ATM and digital asset infrastructure company. As CEO from its founding in 2015 through 2022, he scaled the business from inception into one of the largest networks in the Americas, and played a central role in supporting the Republic of El Salvador's adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender in 2021. He served on Athena's board through 2024. Earlier, he co-founded and served as Chief Investment Officer of a cryptocurrency hedge fund, one of the first to develop systematic, automated trading strategies in digital assets.

Prior to his work in crypto and fintech, Eric spent more than a decade working in Chicago's prop trading industry, including roles as a foreign exchange trader covering G-10 and select emerging market currencies, a delta-one portfolio manager at Chicago Trading Company, and Director of Quantitative Strategies at Spot Trading. That background grounds his approach to risk, market microstructure, and financial controls in real trading and operating experience.

Eric earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an S.B. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Tech.
